Moscow, Idaho

This landmark project created synergies between 2 critical local businesses. Emsi, an emerging giant in the labor market analysis field, purchased land from a historic agricultural business on the north side of Moscow.

This opportunity is creating a new, fresh image to Moscow’s north entrance and allowing St. John Hardware to relocate and expand operations commensurate with their burgeoning business. Emsi, busting at the seams, is constructing a 5 story, 70,000 square foot headquarters building. The structural steel frame will boast a fresh and innovative office look with amenities for staff and customers alike. GPI’s design evaluated deep foundations to support moderately high structural loads. However, through GPI’s past experiences with GeoPier Northwest’s impact pier approach, the team concluded that impact piers would reduce spoils, provide the capacity and settlement limiting characteristics to economically meet the project’s objectives.

This repurposed site can also claim to capitalize on Moscow’s brownfields endeavors, building in a location historically remediated from petroleum contamination. Our comprehensive geoprofessional service spanned geotechnical design, environmental assessment, through construction inspection.

THIS IS TRULY THE PROJECT OF A DECADE IN MOSCOW.
